I am currently pursuing my second degree in Archaeology and then my Masters. I am currently enrolled with ETSU, studying under Dr. Jay Franklin. My main interests are Cherokee Archaeology and the prehistory of Southwest Virginia and East Tennessee. The objective of this blog is to provide a basic archaeological framework so that the population of Upper East Tennessee can better understand the peoples who inhabited this land prior to the first settler expansions of 1772. Many people have been doing archaeological research in the area, from Dr. Katheryn Sampeck to Dr. Jay Franklin etc. This blog is not not a comprehensive overview of any viewpoint other then a cursory guide to some of the current research being conducted in the area.
